
2C Pictures is a film production company founded by Jessica Murphy and Dane McCusker. Focused on the development and production of independent feature films, 2C is named after the apartment where they filmed their first short together. They endeavour to keep this personal approach across a diverse slate of stories.
Jessica Murphy
Producer
Jess is an independent producer based in Sydney, Australia with a focus on developing and producing local feature films. After producing a number of short films that played festivals including SFF, Aspen Shortfest and Flickerfest, Jessica produced her first feature film before the age of 30.
'The Big Dog' is an 80 minute black comedy which premiered at The Sydney Film Festival winning the Runner Up Audience Award and was released theatrically in Australia by Pivot Pictures. Most recently ‘The Big Dog’ was nominated for an AACTA award for Best Original Score in a feature film and nominated for an Australian Director’s Guild award . It is available to stream on Amazon and Apple TV. In 2023, Jess was 1 of 3 producers chosen for the Screen NSW Emerging Producer Placement. After spending 3 months with the Screen NSW investment team, Jess continued her producer placement with Goalpost Pictures on their feature film development slate and later was a Producer's attachment for Black Snow S2. In 2024 Jess was selected as a ‘One’s To Watch’ from Screen Producer Australia.
She is currently in development for her second feature 'Soy Boy' with the support of Screen NSW.
Dane McCusker
Writer/ Director
Dane is an award-winning writer/director from Sydney, Australia with a distinct passion for feature filmmaking. In 2017, Dane’s short film Angelfish was nominated for an Australian Directors Guild Award and saw him shortlisted for the Lexus Short Film Fellowship. Other festival acceptances include the Academy- qualifying Aspen Shortsfest, Hollyshorts, Flickerfest, St Kilda and the FIAPF accredited POFF Shorts. Dane has had two films selected as Staff Picks on Vimeo with an online audience of +500,000.
Dane also worked as a producer and program coordinator on the world's longest running music video show Rage on the ABC.
In 2022, Dane completed his Masters in Film Directing at the Australian Film Television and Radio School. Dane is currently in development for his second feature film.
